The Purple Seahorse pet retailer has taken in 11 rabbits who had been left with no dwelling after the Central Okanagan wildfires, however the animals are prone to being euthanized.
Kai Heinrich, an worker of the pet retailer, explains that Kelowna bylaws require these rabbits to be spayed or neutered, which is why he has launched a GoFundMe to lift $3,000 to cowl the medical prices to avoid wasting them.
“These rabbits had been left to fend for themselves when somebody graciously opened their dwelling to attempt to assist them,” Heinrich writes. “She was sadly unable to assist and reached out to [The Purple Seahorse] for help.”
“After an intensive checkup, we have now come to the conclusion these wholesome and well-mannered pets all need to have a second shot at companionship.”
Kelowna Veterinary Hospital has supplied discounted charges to spay and neuter these rescued rabbits, and $1,000 has already been raised for the trigger.
Heinrich provides: “Any and all donations will go in the direction of saving these animals and discovering them a loving dwelling.”
